Why Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women Must Eat Eggs

Eggs are a superfood for all power-packed with loads of benefits. It is loaded with protein, Vitamins A, B2, B5, B6, B12 that you can add to your daily recommended requirement. These are some of the many nutrients that are found in eggs. Being a highly nutritious food source, doctors worldwide recommend pregnant and breastfeeding women to include eggs in their diet. Some of the other reasons it has to be included in their diet are as follows.

Good Source of Choline

Premium eggs are a good source of a nutrient called choline, which helps in the spinal and brain development of the child during pregnancy. Choline is an essential nutrient that helps develop the baby in the mother's womb.  

Rich in Protein.

Protein is a vital nutrient required to build a baby's bones, muscles and other tissues. Protein helps a lot in the child's growth as well, eggs being the best source of natural protein, should be included in the diet of pregnant and breastfeeding women. Moreover, eggs also contain amino acids (building blocks of protein) that help mothers regain their strength and help the baby develop their muscles.

Eggs are one of the food sources that have vitamin D in them, especially eggs coming from organically raised hens, pastured and free-range are considered to be the best egg for women who are pregnant and breastfeeding. This nutrient is important in fetal development and maintaining the healthy and strong bones of pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women must have a balanced diet for their and their child's health. Thereby, one has to include all the food sources in their diet, and having the best eggs a day will give the mother and the child many of the nutrients required to stay healthy and stronger.
